$115.00 per person                         Sold Out / waitlist

The Center for Great Apes is a sanctuary founded in 1993, dedicated to providing a permanent home for orangutans & chimpanzees who have been retired from entertainment, from research, or who are no longer wanted as pets and not able to be released back into the wild.  The Center provides

a safe, healthy and enriching environment for great apes in need of lifetime care.  What started with 15 acres of tropical wooded habitat surrounded by orange groves has now grown to over 100 acres. The apes live and play in large

3-story high domed enclosures, providing plenty of running room, climbing space and height for swinging, as well as attached rooms for sleeping at night and resting during the day away from the hot sun and rainstorms.

$103.00 per person                         sold out/waitlist

In 1920, William J. Howey purchased 60,000 acres in

Lake County and planted citrus on the majority of his land. Five years later, he became the founder of the town known

as Howey-in-the-Hills. In 1924, he and his wife completed the plans for their permanent home, and by the end of 1927, this architectural gem was finished and ready to move in.

The home was occupied until 2008, when the current owner died leaving the home abandoned, which then fell into disrepair.  The home was purchased in 2017 by the Cowherd family, who have restored it to its former grandeur to be enjoyed by the general public for tours & weddings.

Following the tour, enjoy lunch at Mission Inn.

Then visit Yalaha German Bakery and Yalaha Bootlegging Company Country Store and Craft Distillery.
